Peshawar Zalmi will cross swords with the defending champions Karachi Kings in the second match of tonight’s PSL 2021 double-header in Abu Dhabi.

Since the resumption of the competition in Abu Dhabi, Peshawar Zalmi have lost two of their three matches. They were thumped by Multan Sultans by eight wickets in their most recent outing. Their batting unit has been further weakened by the departure of Fabian Allen and David Miller because of their national commitments. The likes of Haider Ali and Kamran Akmal will need to step up their game at the top of the order. The bowling department has not been particularly impressive either and failed to make any sort of impact in Zalmi’s most recent encounter against the Sultans.

Karachi Kings, too, have commenced their Abu Dhabi leg in a losing manner, tasting defeats in both of their matches, so far. Babar Azam is currently in a red-hot form having accumulated 424 runs in the tournament at an average of 106.00. The Kings needs better returns from Martin Guptill and co if they are to consolidate their position in the top four. Karachi Kings’ one-dimensional bowling has also been received severe criticism of late and was one reason why they were comprehensively hammered in their previous encounter with Islamabad United.

Pitch Report and Weather Conditions

Despite the characteristic slowness of the Abu Dhabi troughs, teams have regularly breached the 160-run mark several times over the past week or so in PSL 2021. Islamabad United, just last night, chased down what initially seemed a gargantuan total from Karachi Kings. Another decent track awaits these two teams and both captains are likely to prefer chasing in these conditions with the dew factor becoming much more prominent later in the night. As far as the weather conditions are concerned, temperatures are usually high during daytime and begin to fall to lower 30s (degrees Celsius) in night
